Age is No Limit when Starting a New Career with Four-Tees Engineers

Four-Tees Engineers (FTE) are delighted to welcome their latest new apprentice Sam Watkins. Sam has previously worked in other sectors including ship engineering and general building and is now embarking on a 4-year FTE apprenticeship. The first year will be in full time education followed by 3 years on day release where Sam will be under the guidance and supervision Mauro of one of FTE’s highly skilled welder fabricators.

Craig Wilkinson Contracts Director at FTE commented. “It is particularly rewarding that our business can attract people looking for a new mid-career challenge and the opportunity to get an entirely new skill set that brings long-term work and career prospects.

Sam has already been involved in some exciting projects. Including a recently completed footbridge at Wool Station and a railway bridge protection project at Brighton Road. The latter project requiring possibly the longest collision protection beams ever fabricated in the UK, each measuring 26m in length and weighing approximately 12 tonnes. So quite something to transfer into a new industry and then immediately be part of such significant schemes.”
