Four Tees Engineers (FTE) welcomed Luke Spottiswood as new member of the team back in July 2023 and Luke commenced his Level 3 Advanced Plate Welder Apprenticeship. His goal is to develop his skills to manually weld plates and structural components to the very high standards expected of FTE.
Luke has been making strong progress, honing his skills and confidence through placement rotations at the Southampton Engineers Training Association (SETA) whilst taking advantage of the mentoring and support from his experienced welder colleagues at the FTE factory. Luke is also undertaking a BTech Engineering course alongside his apprenticeship. The BTech will further equip Luke with those wider skills and competencies to achieve his full potential in a rewarding industry.
FTE Contracts Director Craig Wilkinson added “Developing new talent and training them well is a crucial element of delivering the highest standards of service to our customers, and subsequently underpins our business plan for growth. Through taking on projects from an initial site survey to handing over the completed scheme, we can invest in our people at every stage of the project lifecycle. For me that means we have total accountability to deliver assured outcomes for our customers. Luke is already receiving great feedback, technically he is completing his welding tasks to a good standard and importantly, Luke is also demonstrating strong personal behaviours with his attention to safety, attendance and punctuality at his SETA training.”
